24 rooms, coin-op laundry, free Wi-Fi or you can use their computer for a fee, a/c in deluxe rooms only. No phones in rooms, but a pay phone is on site. This place is popular with backpackers. TV room with hdtv and precisely 301 dvds to choose from. (Not 300 or 302.) They have Deluxe Private rooms (private bath, shared kitchen and washer/dryers) for $75, semi-private (private bedroom, shared bath and kitchen) for $65, dorms (bunks) for $25, or you can pitch your tent for $10/per person. All prices include taxes. The lodge/hostel is a scattering of buildings and is kept clean. Customers tend to form cozy groups since so many facilities are shared. Free pizza and beer parties every Saturday. They say they only take "happy travelers with a cheery outlook" and reserve the right to kick you out if you're grumpy (and they do). They offer several tours in their vans, which are popular with guests since, as they put it, "Most of our guests don't have cars." Just off Kalanianaole Avenue in east Hilo past the industrial area. 7-night maximum.
